Manuel Guzman
Executive Vice President, Learning & Research Solutions and International

Manuel Guzman headshot Manuel Guzman is Executive Vice President of Learning & Research Solutions and International for Cengage Learning. In this role, Mr. Guzman oversees the academic, professional and library markets product development programs, as well as the international businesses. He is responsible for accelerating growth through a fully integrated and aligned global product development process. Mr. Guzman is a member of the Cengage Learning Executive Committee.

Previously, Mr. Guzman served as the Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations for Cengage Learning's Academic and Professional Group. He was responsible for the overall strategic and financial plan and balancing aggressive growth, operational efficiencies and customer focus to promote long-term success. He was a key leader in redefining the former Career and Professional Group (CPG) business from a vocational textbook publisher to a lifelong learning solutions provider for aspiring and practicing skills-based professionals. Mr. Guzman joined CPG in 2004 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the group.

Prior to joining Cengage Learning, Mr. Guzman served as the Vice President of Finance for Thomson Legal & Regulatory. While there, he directed the division's worldwide financial planning processes and provided strategic guidance and leadership. Before joining Thomson, Mr. Guzman was founder and Chief Executive Officer of Monument Information Resource (MIR; now Bowker PubTrack), a higher education market research firm. He has also worked in a variety of financial and business management roles for Simon & Schuster, Prentice-Hall and Macmillan.

Mr. Guzman holds a BS in accounting and an MBA in finance, both from Seton Hall University.
